The starting point for road trips to Ladakh is either Delhi or Chandigarh. There are 2 routes that you can take to reach Ladakh from Delhi: Delhi to Ladakh via Srinagar and Delhi to Ladakh via Manali. Getting to Srinagar and Manali from Delhi is pretty straightforward so I’ll be focusing more on the second leg of the journey from these cities to Leh-Ladakh.

Manali
The route from Manali to Leh is a bit more gruelling than the one from Srinagar but it’s completely worth it. You’ll be tackling high mountain passes, narrow roads and the harshest terrains. But you’ll also witness views that just can’t be described by words. Snow-clad Himalayan passes, green valleys and long stretches without a soul in sight are what await you on this route.

  • Day 2: In the morning you'll reach Manali
  • Day 4: Start from Keylong early morning as you need to cover a lot of distance today
  • Note about Day 3 and 4

 Pangong Lake

The Pangong Lake is awesome view of Leh Ladakh pristine and blue coloured lake Pangong lies somewhere between the Ladakh and Leh amidst the Himalayas. The lake stretches itself from Ladakh to Tibet and most it lies in Tibet. It covers an area of 12 km and is situated at a height of 4350m. due to the temperature falling to minus during winters this lake totally fets froze up. The most strange thing about the lake is that the colour of the lake keeps changing to blue to green and sometimes even grey. Even though the lake is saline the falling temperature cannot keep it in liquid form
